Examples of good behavior are to be preferred over bad examples, but we can still learn not to follow the lead of bad examples. Bad examples are plentiful in 1 and 2 Kings. The story told here is largely one of failed leadership. The story is also about what happened to the people who often so willingly followed their bad leaders. We would do well to learn the lessons of these books.

  Just an update on my dad - Last week they found 2 or 3 small spots on his lungs.  The spots are very small and he was told he must wait 2 months before they can find out if the spots are cancer or not.  With the great possibility of it being cancer, they have stopped his chemo.  They told him, if it is cancer there is nothing they can do for him because at this point the cancer will be too aggressive.
  
  Dad has decided to get some other opinions and has contacted some doctors in Houston and Galveston.  He is in the application stage right now.
