The Deacons of First Baptist Church are critical to the spiritual health and welfare of our church and have recently taken a closer look at how well they are doing.

They are taking a new approach to ministry
- a more hands on approach.

Here are some things they have recently started doing:

• Deacon of The Week

The Deacons are now being more involved in doing ministry during their designated week.
They will be calling you, writing to you, and visiting with you. 

Want to see how they are doing, check out the Deacon of the Week Ministry Journal.  Each week the Deacon of the Week is given 4-5 individuals or families that need ministry that particular week.

• Community Missions

The Deacons have also made a commitment to be more involved in our community.  They have collected the names of individuals and families that desperately need financial, physical, or spiritual help and are making sure they get what they need.

They are doing physical work!  Yes, that is what is going on.  It is not just phone calls and cards, but they are also sweating a little too.  They are doing yard work, construction work, and clean-up work.  We will be posting some pictures for you in the near future.

Part of their ministry is to not only be involved in Community Missions, but also get you - the Church - involved in our community as well.  So don't be surprised if one of your Deacons gives you a call about volunteering some of your time.
